250th Presidential Airlift Wing, Bell 412. RP-1946

Davao, Philippines

RP-1946 "Kalayaan One" is off to Santa Cruz , Davao del Sur.

This was one of two identical chopper types taking the president to inspect the P5.1-billion Sibulan Hydropower Project of Hedcor in Sta.Cruz, Davao del Sur.

Those steps surely make it easy for VVIPs to board.

Pardon the image quality but this chopper was very high, far away and with the sun behind it.

On 24FEB09, i.e. 2 days earlier, I still photographed this B412 in MNL, along with 1898.
I wonder if they flew it down to DVO or if they carried it in some cargo plane.

Note: Crashed and damaged beyond repair on Apr 7, 2009. This is perhaps the last published photo of this aircraft before the accident.
