I moved from my native Ohio to Montana in 1978, moved home the next year and went back in 1981, the worst economic year in Montana history. Back to Ohio, then California, and Pennsylvania ever since.
I returned there in 2011 with my wife and son to attend the reunion of a camp I used to work at on Flathead Lake, and I did my best to document the visit. Photographs with asterisks were taken by my wife, Ellen, because I was driving at the time. 958 miles travelled were covered in some way by these photographs. From St. Mary to Bozeman, my HTC Incredible 2 phone camera had to substitute for my Canon 20D Digital SLR, as the camera card was lost in the car.
