Malta former home of the Knights of St John.
Valleta contains fortifications and Cathedrals which date back to the days of the Knights,
starting in the 16th Century and ended when they were driven off the Island
by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1798.
We stayed in Valleta for our visit, you can walk into the main town from the port as its a
relatively short distance, however there are steep inclines and a large number of steps to
negotiate, so be prepared. The city is relatively compact with narrow streets and is very
pleasent and easy to get around.
We say goodby to Malta and head for a restful day at sea as we journey back to Palma and
our flight back to the UK.
