Redcliffs climbing area

Redcliffs is a sandstone climbing crag near Murphys Creek which in turn is near Toowoomba in South East Queensland. The crag is in the sun all day and is not suitable to be climbed during late spring to early autumn. This is really only a winter crag only. As I acquire photos of the climbing there I will update this gallery on a regular basis. The first pic has been taken by Ted Cais in about 1974. I`ve updated pics with some images of Grant climbing Pendulus overhang. He initially lead the climb clean but then wanted to do a whipper, he yarded a heap of slack through the quickdraw and then leaped off. He fell about 12 metres clocking up major airtime before being pulled up by my belaying. It`s awesome to see the system being tested and knowing that all the ringbolts we put in are doing their job. I must apologise for the poor quality of some of the images as I was taking a diggyvid at the time of the fall whilst also belaying consequently the camera got joggled around quite a bit. Those images are taken off video and not the capture card so there is quite a bit of loss to the image. But at least you can see the sequence of the fall eh.
