These images were taken on June 23, 2007 near Randolph, Rich County, Utah. The newest young chick was not long out of the egg. There were two chicks that I saw on this nest, one of them appeared to be perhaps a day older than the newly hatched chick. The day old chick would leave the nest and then return. I was standing in water about waiste deep. Shot with a Nikon 200-400 4.0 AF-S lens and a D200 Nikon body off a monopod.
