Dipper, American ( First Year)

Clover Springs, Tooele County, Utah. This one was just too cool(literally)not to share the experience. Clover Spring is one of my very favorite place to photograph birds. I was waiting to get images of some warblers coming into water. I was using my 600mm lens. This first year Dipper flew into the spring below me and started working it's way upstream toward me. He kept getting closer and closer. At 18 feet I switched to my 70mm-200mm lens. As he got closer (10 feet), I knelt down into the cold water to get a better (lover, eye level)perspective. He continued closer and closer. At 5 feet I was down to 70mm, I got as low as I could, kneeling on my knees and elboes in the frigid stream. I soon started shaking from the cold water and awkward position. He/she passed within a few feet of me, paying me no mind. I quit "shooting" and just watched. What a beautiful, but extremely cold, wet, experience. The hot sun was extremely welcomed.
