This hearing heald by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality dealt with receiving testimony from intereested parties and the public regarding proposed revisiont so 30TAC Chapter 114,115 and 117 which includes pollution from Motor Vehicles, Gasoline and Deisel Powered items, Compressors, Cement Kilns, Hot Water Heaters, Utility power Plants and other sources and to bring the 9 county North Texas Region into compliance with the FCAA (Federal Clean Air Act). Texas is required to submit SIP revisions by June 15, 2007 for demonstraiting attainment with the eight-hour ozone national ambiant air quality standard.

There were approximately 130 interested parties 30 of whome spoke to the State Representatives who included some engineers and other staff members.

The speakers ranged from concerned citizens, to school teachers (they have seen a rapid increase in asthma in their student population), to members of the Green Party, the Siera Club, the Blue Skies Alliance, The Downwinders at Risk, individuals who have breathing problems, a representative of the current Mayor's Office and one former Mayor of the City of Dallas. Out of the 30 speakers only one was for the polluting sources and he was a representative of the Portland Cement Association. Each speaker was given up to 5 minutes to speak or give their presentation.

The meeting started at 7 pm at the Dowtown Dallas Public Library and ended before 9:30.
