Stop The Coal Rush in Austin Texas on Feb 11 and 12, 2007

Citizens from all over the state of Texas came to ask their State Senators and Representatives to put a stop to Governor Rick Perrys fast tracking of up to 20 coal burning power generation plants that TXU energy is trying get through before various cut off dates occur so that they can be grandfathered under older laws that are less restrictive on pollution allowed from the plants. Aproximately 200 people arrived from the North Texas area, another 100 from East Texas, several hundred from Central Texas, a hundred pluss from the Houston Beaumont area, several hundred from San Antonio and others from elsewhere in the state to show that they are not happy with this. There was television and press coverage from all of the large cities across the state along with numerious video and still freelance photographers documenting these actions by the public.
