KLU KLUX KLAN Ralley on the Courthouse Square in Stephenville Texas March 17, 2007

About Two Dozen Members of the KKK had a free speach ralley in the small western Texas town of Stephenville (aprox 120 miles west of Dallas) in the CourtHouse Square. There were over 60 police there from various agencies across the region and the state to quell any problems that might arise many in the crowd in semi-undercover rolls. (Were not the best undercover since most of them were picked out by several of the photographers after just a short time).

The Klan spoke for about an hour, putting out their views on various subjects as people inprisoned in Switzerland for their speach, Border Agents in Jail while illegal aliens were let free, Drugs, the Jewish Population and various other theories that they believe in. Several times they put forth that they are a Christian Organization and that the United States was founded on Christianity. Well all was quite pretty much for over the first hour, yes there was an occasional epitath thrown back at them from the audience and some single finger salutes were made but not much turmoil had occured that was until some Counter Protestors arrived from a nearby city park. There soon was a scuffle, no KKK members were involved, and one girl was taken away in a police car while I saw two young men put against a wall, by undercover officers, and basically read the riot act to calm down and not cause a problem. (One of the guys kept screaming Your Not Cops Why Are You Doing This To ME!) Well they were cops! The KKK spoke for another 20 minutes or so after the girl was taken away. After the speach some members of the media were allowed inside of the fence to interview several of the KKK members. So soon after the media interview inside the fence the KKK members climed into some white vans and were taken out of the Square to some location north of Downtown to get into their cars.

I would estimate from 300-400 people were around the south side of the Square for the event and most left very quickly after the Klan finished their speach. I heard several people say that they had not heard such stupidity being spoken by anyone in a long time.
