This was done so people could see the natural habitat that the snakes live in and could actually see how easily a rattlesnake can blend into their environment and how swiftly they can move in the wild.

Now this particular area has been cleared of snakes for the last several years by the property owner since he has grandchildren who like to go out and camp in this area but within 1/4 mile they pointed out what has consistantly been a large snake den on the other side of a ravine. This was not to say that snakes could not have appeared at this location while we were there. Now this is not the 1/2 day or full day snake hunt where you go out with a hunter or two to collect the rattlesnakes but more of a 1 hour or so teaching information tour.
