SInkhole Pond on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon

Scientists believe that rains erode the limestone under the rock caps in various areas around the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and after a while they create a chamber that fills with water. Then at some point the overlying caprock weakens and collapses into the chamber revealing the small pond/lake below it. I did not venture out to see how deep this water was since I have no idea what sort of support ability that the edges of the pond have.
