The FEMA trailers are being stored on the grounds of an airport, I think the airport was built while Clinton was President and since then has been decommissioned, and FEMA is storing both new never installed trailers and units that have been returned and are being sold by FEMA. Many of the units were so rushed out of the factories, just to set in fields for almost 2 years now, and they were not built to proper standards and are leaking water into the units. Units down in the New Orleans area are showing major signs of mold on the outside of them and you can see where water is entering through gaskets around windows that were not properly set and sealed.

Hope had over 15,000 never installed units in early May 2007 in storage and several thousand units that have been returned after their use. The government does need to have some units ready to handle further disasters but between the 6 or more storage yards having over 30,000 units just setting and aging in the sun and tying up the hundreds of millions of dollars for these units is not good stewardship of the nations money. Also you may want to note that this storage area parralleled the highway for over 1.6 miles and ran I would guess close to a mile deep in areas with the trailers parked tightly together with access roads to move them about and get access to them.

These pictures were taken back a couple years ago and I do not know if FEMA still has them there now or not or if they have sold or disposed of them since. If some one is interested in a trailer they need to contact FEMA for information.
