This coccoon has been opened. The body of the caterpillar has partially decomposed with the fly larvae feeding on the soupy mass.
At least four maggots are present here. The mass dried out without the fly larvae pupating unfortunately.
Many unhatched eggs are still visible on the skin of the dead caterpillar.
