I belong to a wonderful dinner club, and tonight we had a wine tasting at the home of my friends Linda and Hans. I know nothing about wines and my invitation said to bring a Merlot. I went to the grocery store, found a label I liked, looked closer and saw it was from Australia.

So when it was my turn I truthfully told my friends I bought it because it had a nice label and I have an Australian friend....so, Laine, this one is for you! The wine got fours and fives all of the way across the room....five being the top score. I even liked it!

ha ha ha ha... on your story. You pick wine the exact same way I do! I thought I was alone. Love the shot. I saw it in the thumb and was quite intrigued and the photo lives up to the thumbnail's billing.

Oh you don't need to know anything about wine. You just have to like it!

Great lighting--glad you could see! Next time, try some wine from Chile--it's good also.

Got so carried away I failed to notice the Lindemans Bin 93 Sauvignon Blanc 2003 ( Lindemans is Australia's oldest winery ) Wow, must hoist the flag & start singing now.
Cheers, Laine.

Petesie, how terrific of you to think of me when doing this. Fairly made my day :>) !! ((( hugs ))) I'm no expert on wines either, but I do hear we produce some good drops in our ever increasing wine industry. When I have a wine it's a sweet fruity riesling & we have a beautiful label called Brown Brothers if you ever come across it over there.
Signing off & still wearing a smile !!

Wow, she said, sitting here drinking her white merlot. Looks good! I love Beringer.. they have great white wines.. (if you can find me a sweet red, I'd try it..lol)..

Glad you had fun..

I'm glad your wine was a success, Petesie. This looks like the kind of party I'd definitely enjoy.

I would be torn between the Aussie merlot and the German riesling auslese.

What fun! From the thumbnail I thought, "Uh oh, she's gone off the deep end!" Glad there was a rational explanation... Neat shot -- did you save any for me?

I am guessing yours is the one with the kangaroo on it?! I'd have picked that one too!

A wine tasting party...I'll bet things get interesting by the end of the evening! :)-

Like this shot Petesie. All the bottles look interesting. And what better way to pick a wine :)
