Jianshui is on a westward spur of the Kunming to Hekou line. There never seems to have been any problem boarding trains on this section (I've ridden it twice). A newer station is now in use, but I happened to find a taxi driver who lived near the original one and could take me to it. It had long been in use as ordinary housing, and it was possible to climb right up to the loft. The roof is obviously not original.
