This area of central Taipei was named after Chinese Republic founder Dr. Sun Yat-sen in 1946, after the end of Japanese occupation. In the 1970’s, this district was the center of banking, international business and tourism.
We stayed the 華國大飯店 (Imperial Hotel Taipei) here. Within walking distance are the Taipei Fine Arts Museum and the Arts Park (美術公園), site of the 2010 Taipei International Flora Exposition.
