Tamron 28-105 f2.8

Tamron SP AF 28-105mm f/2.8 LD Aspherical (IF)
I have this lens since 1997, as my all-in-one lens. It was much better than the consumer grade EOS zooms that I bought with my first AF SLR (EOS-620) back in 1987.
With D-SLR, we are more demanding now. At f2.8, it is only barely usable. At f4, it is acceptable. At 5.6 and beyond, it is pretty good, but not as sharp as Canon “L” lenses.
Although I rarely shoot at f2.8, it lets me see a bright viewfinder.

Its aperture motor failed in 2003. Tamron repaired it for free because of their 6-year warranty. They also cleaned and lubed it.
I have dropped the big (82mm) lens cap several times. When dropped on hard surfaces, it scatters into pieces, including two tiny springs, which are difficult to find. Once, I had to write Tamron to get replacements.

The first 2 photos are 100%. The remainings are 50% reduction. Please click the "original" link on each page to see it.
