The new 5-star Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16 (十六浦) on the old west side of the Macau Peninsular as viewed from Mount Fortress.
Designed by California based architect Jon Jerde
The Inner Harbor grew from a fisherman’s port to the city’s economic center. Its decline began in the 1970’s with the relocation of the Hong Kong - Macau Ferry Terminal to the east coast.
Across the river in the background is the prefecture-level city of Zhuhai (珠海) in China.
