The Battlefields Park on the Plains of Abraham outside the walls of Quebec City, overlooking the St. Lawrence River
On Sept 12, 1759, The British defeated the French here and took Quebec. This was the crucial battle of the Seven Years' War in North America. By the end of the war in 1763, the British took all the French possessions in North America east of the Mississippi.
