Frosty Morning

Salmon Arm, British Columbia

It was only -20 Celsius (-4 Fahrenheit) but there was enough
breeze to make it somewhat cool. Cool enough that I froze my
hands in spite of the photo gloves I was wearing. I still have some
discomfort over a day later.

I'm glad I wasn't using a metal tripod.

It would have been worth it for a great shot, but not for this one.

TERRIFIC shot, Peter I can feel the cold as I glaze at this beauty. Wonderful leading lines you really have an
eye for composition.

WoW.....what a sensational shot, Peter!!!
I hear you about the cold temps...just recovering from a minor storm that took out our furnace and a couple computers. Today we're expecting a doozy of a storm. ugh

Oh not to mention the wonderful light! :)

Peter, this is one of the best photos of yours that I have ever seen. This is a gem of composition and clarity and portrayal of cold. The blue tone of the snow and the color of the water are remarkable along with the rising steam. Go hang it. It's one to be proud of.

I wouldn't sell yourself short Peter - this is a fine shot. Nice composition and I can almost feel the cold; you have captured the pale colour of a cold day well. We are having the opposite weather extremes here, yesterday we had an unseasonal +12C.

I really have no idea to be out there shooting in that temperature, but if i can withstand it just to get these kind images, i it could be worth it. Outstanding, Peter..v

Oh my but this is beautiful.
It would be worth it for me to venture
out if the views were this impressive.
Stay warm.

It hasn't been -20 here yet, but it's coming. Thinking about hibernating for the winter. I think the image is pretty good.

Same weather here in Minnesota. Snowing now and -3 F. Your composition is spot on in this one. I love taking Winter images but ALWAYS freeze my fingers. Gloves don't work very well for me.
