Red Kite

Currently on vacation in England with family.
This is a reintroduced raptor that once went extinct in England.
A number of birds were released on large private grounds and the
birds have now increased 10 fold though still restricted to a fairly
small area. Great looking bird that flew across the motorway.
Had to pull over for a couple of quick shots.

Canon EOS 350D
1/1600s f/14.0 at 400.0mm iso800 full exif

other sizes: small medium original

this bird is part of the re-introduction programme in Buckinghamshire England, now over 300 birds in the area, only 40 miles from London, fantastic sights of flocks of 20 birds now a fairly common sight
