13-OCT-2006 Jaime

Abel Tasman, NZ

New Zealand have very few native/endemic passerines left.
This one is the most common in native forest on the Southern Island away from Canterbury.
It has deeply irredecent feathers with a fierce looking face reminding me of Birds of Paradise.
It has pleasent musical tones that are far reaching.
It is very active and hard to photograph. This shot was taken by my son, Jaime 11.
The birds beak and body are well focused but not the neck, due to a lack of DOF.........
