Eurasian Kestrel

Khao Yai

Any raptor seen in Thailand is always a bonus as raptors really are not very common here. Thus photographing this individual was an exciting event for me.

Hi Peter
I consider myself very lucky as a Eurasian Kestrel roost outside my bedroom window(2nd floor) every night just north of Phetchabun. The bird is quite tolerant of humans but difficult to photograph as he always arrives at dusk and I don't like to disturb him with flash.

He, is not spooked by the security light nor the bedroom aircon.

Great to see him arrive at speed, wings back as he swings round the house and settles on his perch.
