The most common Stork in the area. Feeds on snails in the rice fields and thus gets the approval it needs from farmers.

I've been in Sam Roi Yot for 2 months now, cycling around the area, the marshes etc. I think this is the bird I've seen in the marshes, bigger than the great egrets(i think they are.),which I have seen in large numbers, especially when the water level gets low & the fish are condensed into small pools. Is the 'Open Bill' the bird I often see circling in groups of up to 5,making lazy vulture like circles?
Loving the pictures & accompanying info. Many thanks,Paul.
