Richard Heil

Lampakbia, Thailand

Richard had birded in Thailand twice before but wanted a day in the field while visiting his fiance.
We started out with Mai Taeng Resevoir at Ratchaburi. Managed to see our target bird real well: Rain Quail and River Lapwing.
Then off to Lampakbia for some early migrants. Had 8 Grey-tailed Tattlers, 7 Terek Sandpipers as highlites at the spit.

354 Spot-billed Pelicans was a record count for Thailand. These birds were seen flying high over fields on a migratory route.
Several Black Bittern were also new for Rich.

A great day with 105 species recorded.

"Thanks for a great day birding. Very enjoyable!"
Rick Heil
