Camping at Tung Lung Island (東龍島露營記)

This was a very fine weekend and we had our family camping at Tung Lung Island. To
most Hong Kong people, Tung Lung Island (or Tung Lung Chau) is probably one of the
least visited outlaying island in the territory.

Unlike many outlaying islands in HK, there is no seafood restaurant on Tung Lung Island.
Only a few families live on the island. What makes Tung Lung Island special is the
quietness, cleaniness, as well as the natural scenery. In addition, there is the remains
of a fort built in the Qing Dynasty.

The camp site is located at the edge of a cliff on the eastern shore of the island. From
there one can enjoy a very beautiful sunrise.

(Updated on 1/9/2007) Somehow I returned to Tung Lung Island a week later, with some
friends of mine. That time we visited a few more places on the island and we witnessed
the (beautiful) last sunrise in year 2006.
