Near the Shing Mun Reservoir entrance to Stage 6 of the McLehose Trail there
sits a remains from the World War II - the Shing Mun Redoubt. On a sunny
weekend we walked along the trail and visited some of the structure that are
still in good shape. I know that the Hong Kong government does nothing (as
it always does) to preserve the place. Therefore I was surprised when I
saw that most of the structures have been very well maintained and is very
clean. Apparently some volunteers stand up and have done a remarkable job
to give us an excellent history lesson.
I whole heartedly thank those contributed to the preservation of the
redoubt. I also truely recommend everyone to visit the remains (with
care and appreciation) before it's too late.
