The Dingoes on Fraser Island are reported to one of the purest in Australia.
Everywhere on the island there are signs, brochures etc warning against feeding
them as they then learn to forage from humans instead of fitting into the natural
ecosystem. Additionally they become unafraid of humans and there is an increasing
incidence of attacks on people - at which point the authorities are compelled to
destroy the offending animal(s). Here the sign on the rubbish bin says "Be Dingo
Aware" and "If Bin Full? Please Use Another". I think I should point out that
Dingoes can't read and this one is removing material from the bin, not disobeying
the sign :-)
