All the magpies (pies) pictures were taken in our large Provence garden. The birds are very prudent and are quite difficult to catch with the cameras and have to be snapped on the sligh, as opposed to our small birds that are fairly tame.
The Jackdaws (choucas) are all taken around the Forcalquier cathedral, nearby our home, while they swirl around the high towers. None of these pictures are perfect but they are fun.
Latest 2008 magpie pictures are sharper, the birds were baited in our garden,with grain and meat to come closer. 2009 shots are mostly closer, some taken with the new Nikon 500vr or the new 200-400 vr.
