Message from Pete FourWinds
I'm an experienced non-professional photographer who has been shooting since early summer 2006. I am currently based in Frederick, Maryland, and I work throughout Frederick County and beyond. Most of my work has been in landscapes, but with some model photography in my portfolio, I'm expanding more into modeling-specific venues and increasing my experience.
My studio is fully portable, so if you can't come to me for a shoot, I can come to you.
I often find that people think "NON-professional" means UN-professional. It does not. For me, non-professional simply means I make my living outside of photography. I shoot purely for the love of photography, and I take it very seriously. I have the utmost respect for the art and the people I work with. Because of this fairly common perception of what a "non-professional" photographer is, let me share what I bring to the table and what I expect:
Working with me:
- I always approach shoots in a professional manner. I am always on time to a shoot, if not early. If some unforeseen event occurs that will prevent me from being on time, I will call.
- If I have to cancel I will give 48 hours notice.
- If I am paying you for working for me, I always pay cash.
- I provide all necessary model releases and contracts for our shoot.
- If we are doing TFP/TFCD work, I will have your copies in the mail no later than 2 weeks after the shoot, barring unforeseen circumstances.
What I expect from Models:
1: Be professional. We are here to work and have fun.
2: Be on time. If you will be late then call me. If you must cancel please give me 48 hours notice.
3: Feel free to bring a friend/escort. In fact, I encourage it, at least for our first time working together. I want you to be as comfortable as able. Just make sure the escort understands that he/she is there solely for your safety, and is to remain quiet, not argue with you, and that if I want comments/ideas - I will ask for them. Escorts should also help the model if needed, carry equipment, etc. If your escort is unable to follow these rules then I will ask them to leave.
4. If you have concerns about a shoot, please tell me before we start. I don't want to put you into any circumstance that makes you uncomfortable.
5. Please bring proof of identity and age, especially if we are doing a nude shoot.
6. If you are under 18, please be sure your REQUIRED escort is either a biological parent or legal guardian, such as legally adoptive parent or another family member in a position to LEGALLY sign contracts or make decisions for you. If your escort is someone OTHER THAN the above, such as a sibling over 18, best friend, favorite aunt, etc, I'll stop the shoot before it starts and we can reschedule. I do not, under ANY circumstances, do nude or implied shoots with models under 18, regardless of parental or guardian consent.
7. Bring a cheerful attitude to the shoot. We are here to have fun and create artistic images.
