Hanging Lake is now of our very short list of the most beautiful places we have ever experienced. This gallery is rather long, but I hope it is worth your time, the hike was very much worth our time! The pictures follow the hike: steep trail up to the lake, then to Spouting Rock, the view of the lake from the top, and then down to the base of the canyon.
It is located close to Glenwood Springs. A steep but short hike (1.2 miles going up with elevation gain of 1000 ft). You go up through magical woods, see amazing cascading water falls, beautiful greenery, and finally the lake and waterfall (Spouting Rock) which feeds it. You hike up what is called Dead Horse Canyon, next to Dead Horse Creek. That is very West – here is one of the most beautiful places on the planet and it is called Dead Horse Canyon.

About the pictures: I had tripod with me but I was too lazy to use it for some of the shots (not lazy to carry it) so many of the long exposure pictures are hand-held. All are single shots, no HDR tricks, which sometimes shows (dynamic range falls short on some of the pictures, but I still liked them enough to publish them).

Droga prowadzi blisko strumyka (Dead Horse Creek – Strumyk Zdechlego Konia) do jeziora a pozniej powyzej jeziora do Spouting Rock (spout = spust/rynna rock=skala) ktrory zasila jezioro. Poza okropnymi nazamia (zdechly koni, spust, itd) to jest przepiekne miejsce jakiego dotad nie widzielismy. Taszczylem z saba obiektyw, ale bylem zbyt leniwy zeby go uzywac caly czas. Wiele zdjec (mimo dlugiej odslony) zrobione bez obiektywu. Nie robilem serii odslon zeby walczyc z ogromnym dynamiczny przedzialem (ciemno-jasno). Mimo tego zdecydowalem sie opublikowac pare zdjec gdzie scaly sa niestety prawie biale.
