Black-bellied Plover Stretch

Black-bellied Plover Stretch

Ottawa, Ontario

I learned to always be vigilant of what is around me while photographing a pair of plovers. I was lying down on the ground and starting to get some good opportunities when both plovers took flight. Not being able to see behind me, I assumed the resident Merlin might be at it again. A second later, I had two large Rottweilers jump on my back and one nipped my hamstring before I stood up. Yes, lets see him laugh all the way to court. something about you and dogs doesn't seem to mix (didn't you get nipped in Dominican too).

Nice shot before the Dog incident Bill. Perhaps one should carry a can of Bear repellant when out doing nature photography. In my view, many bad Dog owners, like some avid bikers think they own the road/park and can do what they darn well please irrespective of clear signage and laws.
