Aurora Borealis

Clarence-Rockland, Ontario

Last night, Oct.8th, a dazzling display of the Aurora Borealis errupted high over the big dipper in the northern sky. Needless to say, I grabbed my camera/tripod and headed out to take some long exposures. The source of the geomagnetic storm was a CME that hit earth early on Oct.8th. As we approach solar maximum there should be other shows of light to come...

We saw it last night too. Alas, no Draconids last night.
