Evening Grosbeak

Forest Hill, Ontario

I felt very fortunate to have this beauty visit my sunflower feeder in my backyard. I noticed it from the kitchen window and needless to say grabbed my camera and snuck around out back. I hid behind a bench in the garden and waited. Thirty seconds later it reappeared and perched nearby where I managed a few shots. Lighting was not entirely on my side but I did not dare reposition myself in fear of losing any chance :)

You are indeed fortunate. This is such a spectacular bird and so uncommon these days. V
