Looking at my family history I found a reference to the Hector as one of our family ships. Being a Groom and it sailing from Broom its highly likely a lot of name interchanging went on back in the days.
The ships Hector, Dove and Rambler alledgedly sailed to the Americas being some of the first where they set off there survivors which spread west across the Americas in various guises.
If this is indeed one of my families ships it looks very pleasing to see it.
