Baby El Capitan

Navajo Nation, Navajo County, Arizona view map

I originally posted this in color for the purpose of showing how lush the setting was because of
an unusually wet Spring. However, this b&w version is the one I really prefer because I think it
helps to bring out the details and dramatic impact of the setting.

This is a merge of three exposures for HDR and conversion to b&w in PS.
The color version can be seen here: http://www.pbase.com/image/160732637

This image works so well as a black and white. The dynamic sky, excellent tonal range, endless depth and superb details all contribute to their masterful capture. Truly an outstanding shot Sam VVV+++

Both are lovely but I agree; the B&W has more impact. The contrast is spot on. Well done. Vote.

I really like your B&W rendition. Very dramatic with great detail and tones. It certainly does have that "Ansel Adams" feel. V

I would be hard pressed to say which one I liked better, but this one looks like it could be in a book of engravings. V.

I like it in mono. It has an Ansel Adams look. "V".
