Partial Solar Eclipse

Tucson, AZ

The view near maximum from this partial solar eclipse as seen from Tucson. Clear skies allowed
for uninterrupted viewing. I brought a telescope to work and set that up so my co-workers
could get a nice close-up of the event. That sunspot complex in the center is absolutely gargantuan.
This is a fairly large crop from the original full-frame image.

Great clarity and detail both on the spot and the slightly serrated edge of the moon. Spot on exposure. "V"

There was talk about this sunspot today on NPR News. It was called ""freakishly huge" but I like your "gargantuan" description better :-)
