Titus Canyon Drive

Death Valley National Park view map

Having the proper vehicle makes a big difference when taking the non-paved routes
around Death Valley. This shot is just before we descend the canyon on the way to
the mining ghost town of Leadfield. A shot below of some interesting color nearby:

Such interesting color, it looks to be a copper green. A 4x4 is a must and fun
to boot. V

exhilarating scene, and doubtless and adventurous drive...saw the same green as below at Arches NP...must be a mineral signature of some sort...

Two pictures that make me want to go there!

Not quite the place for a sportscar huh? Perhaps that green is the result of copper...
John Vass26-Feb-2014 08:34
Yep! Have to be prepared and that includes the ride in and the ride out! Some people don't think about that! So what causes that color?

My kind of place; I love excursions in the back country. Really unusual color. Do you know why?
fotabug26-Feb-2014 06:51
Great views here! Forbidding country! (with a dependable rig) :)

My word it looks like parts of Australia Sam. Fascinating country to drive through and you do need the right machines, The hardships the oldtime miners went through can be imagined. BV
