Harsh Conditions

Death Valley National Park

The highest fuel prices I have ever seen in the US. Thankfully, there was no need to fuel up at this
location in Panamint Springs. Prices were a little better in Furnace Creek (below), but still goofy
high. I usually refueled in Beatty, NV where prices were about $1 lower than in Furnace Creek.

other sizes: small medium original auto

Great shot to put things into perspective! A matter of supply and demand, given that competition is not found nearby! jaja V

It's 8-9 dollars a (US) gallon here in the UK. Welcome to the real world!

Ouch! The only place that I have seen that is almost this bad in Hanksville, UT and it's only because they can! Thanks for the heads up!

Those are some harsh conditions! I paid 2.86 the other day in Richland.

A six pack of beer or a gallon of gas? Tough decision.

I saw the fuel price and kept driving. I fuel up in Vegas before heading out to the DV and glad I did.

Wow, amazing. I can't even imagine going back to prices remotely like these after being here, where gasoline is almost free. V.

OUCH! 2.95 that we pay here at Costco seems like a good deal.
Walter Otto Koenig03-Feb-2014 16:32
Outrageous prices, but then they really have got you if you have to tank up.
Guest 03-Feb-2014 15:33
