A different perspective of a flowering agave. The desert around here is
dotted with brilliant splashes of yellow right now (see below). It may take
more than a month for the plant to put up this flowering stalk. The plant dies
as a result of putting all of its energy into flowering for the next generation.
One of the flower heads had a large fly whose blackness detracted from the color
theme. So I cloned him/her out of the scene. :^) I am pretty happy with the way
this shot turned out and also put it into my Keepers gallery.
