Lunar Eclipse Over Kitt Peak

Three Points, AZ

I got up at 3 am to head out to a spot where I hoped I could
catch an almost fully eclipsed Moon setting behind the Kitt Peak
National Observatory complex. The best part of this event was
having my youngest daughter watch this with me. More info on
Kitt Peak can be found at: http://www.noao.edu/kpno/

Canon EOS 5D Mark II ,Canon EF 500mm f/4L IS USM ,1.4x TCIII

Perfect setting and beautiful moment to capture the eclipse, Sam. You must've been up early to be over Kitt Peak! Came out much better than mine, but to see it was really something.

Sandi Whitteker PM reply 10-Dec-2011 16:13
It's a great shot, Sam. Love the bit of cloud over it and very appropriate shooting it over what looks to be observatories.
Bonnie Underwood PM reply 10-Dec-2011 16:13
That is so beautiful. So glad somebody
was able to enjoy and photograph it.

Magnificent !
We have to wait a little longer, just a few more minutes to see it here.
I am certain it will not be as spectacular as this beauty, though.

Great! V
