Freshly watered grass... Water is funny how it's a liquid, yet can form a shape as a droplet of water... I wonder if you were a little aunt or something if you could poke your hand into the water without destroying the droplet.

Terrific shot, Paul - this one gets my vote. Look at all the stuff goin' on in that little droplet about 2 o'clock! That lush green grass would be replaced by straw brown up here in Wisconsin right now... WHEW, is it dry!

yup, at that size water would be more syrupy to the touch,
but the shape would stay intact.
The droplet shape tries to be spherical because equal
surface pressure from all points inside the droplet, which
fights the air pressure from outside.
The flattening is due to gravity acting on the whole
drop.
Add soap, and it becomes "wetter", weakening the surface
tension.
Though we cannot shrink down to that size, it would be awesome
to have a little micro robot and camera arm :-)
