Not from doubt or anything but just to note it would have been 2 of every animal they had BACK THEN, what about all the animals that became extinct from then to now?... like dinosaurs or animals we never new existed. if you made the ark according to the Bible than try to imagine deck for birds... top for small animals... middle big animals... and bottom for huge animals like dinosaurs. God may have caused carnivorous animals to not eat meat, who knows? lets not argue about it but be glad God saved man-kind and every thing else.
lordsydney 06-Sep-2008 08:52
I thank all the people who put their time and effort into building the re-make of the ark God bless you all, thankyou
chloe 03-Sep-2008 16:01
I believe whole heartedly that Noah existed and built an ark and even took as many animals as he could - with him and his family as faithful stewards. But it has already been proven that the flood that occurred during that time only covered one third of the continent they lived on. Still........ thats HUGE. That would be like losing the entire United States and Canada. The point is...... that WAS Noah's whole world. He saw the vision correctly (from his perspective). And followed through. It has also been proven that over half of the ground species in that area, before the flood were in fact SAVED by Noah and his family. Awesome. Even when put into perspective it is a true miracle of God.
KEISHA 02-Sep-2008 01:10
THIS IS AWESOME. I LOVE IT!!! GOD BLESS YOU
tonya 02-Sep-2008 01:05
this is great, unbeliveable .GOD BLESS YOU.

All should check out Ron Wyatt, a Christian archeologist, on the internet. See photos of remnants of the ark in Turkey ('the mountains of Arrat"). Too cool. God Bless.
Kay 27-Aug-2008 01:05
This is the most glorious and amazing work of art/labor. Next to the real thing that Noah did at God's bidding. Spectacular. God is surely blessing you for your labors and gift to all believers and also sceptics. Bless you and I feel so blessed at having been able to see this great work of art.
Angelbabe7 23-Aug-2008 04:55
You know this is very awesome. It does not matter if it floats or not. Someone just wanted to let people know how the Ark looked like. It says a "REPLICA"! I would like to pray for the people that have negative comments. That just shows that in your mind that you must not believe in our Lord and Savoir. And Dingosimon I will pray for you every hour of every day that you would become to know the Lord, I'm real sorry that you must not believe in the Bible. They didn't have to have a motor or sails. If you would read the Bible there where always miracles going on. All Noah new was to trust in his Father.
Guest 22-Aug-2008 13:04
I am shure that God is looking down on you for spreading the word. God bless you.
Guest 20-Aug-2008 22:49
Will it float?
Teri 16-Aug-2008 08:06
Wow! It never occurred to me that Noah's Ark would be this large. but, of course it would be to hold animals as large as elephants and hiipos. What a wonderful accomplishment! Too bad I'm not in Holland to see for myself.
Davete McKenzie 16-Aug-2008 03:47
WOW! I have read about Noah's ark but never new just how big it really was. I think it is so wonderful of you to do something like that. God is really proud of you and looking down and saying "Well done thy good and faithful servant"
Guest 16-Aug-2008 03:01
By the way, it was much more than 40 days and nights. That is just the time it rained.
Guest 16-Aug-2008 02:58
For Fritz, Genesis says God told Noah to collect food for the animals. So they must not all have hibernated, for the whole time...
Guest 15-Aug-2008 06:41
I enjoyed all the pictures.
I'm sure God is looking down with pleasure at what you did for him..
I only wished I lived closer so I could enjoy it more.
Thanks again and God Bless You.
Fritz Lorenz Doerring 15-Aug-2008 00:57
I believe it was something like this: Some animals today, still hibernate. perhaps
at Noah's time, all of them could do that, and that would certainly simplify the
chores and the food supply. And if they were not all capable of hibernation,
Our God could easily effected that for such an occasion. Some folk like to fit
every happening into what they have knowledge of at present day. Times, they
are a-changing. And, what small things; these old testament miracles, in light of
how God so loved the world(humankind), that He gave His only begotten Son,
so that whoso believeth in Him should have everlasting life. God preserves His
creation.

Gabe Larsen 14-Aug-2008 16:38
For Dingosimon: Noah and his family we'ren't going anywhere, they were just trying to stay afloat. That's why there are no sail, motor, etc. No, not all the animals in the world were aboard, just two of each. As far as food and room; if you brought two kittens instead of two fully mature cats the kittens would of course eat less. Same with puppies. If you brought a baby of the species, the baby would eat less and take up less room. As for who cleaned up, Noah, his wife, their three sons (Ham, Shem, and Jappeth) and their wives, a total of eight people were aboard the Ark. Yes, it was a big task, but we have a big God!
Dingosimon 12-Aug-2008 03:03
Has anyone thought of how this would have sailed? No sails, no motor, is it really feasible?
I mean this ark would have been drifting aimlessly around for ages with no direction.
How was food stored for all the animals and water, who cleaned up all the manure .
I mean to be on this for 40 days etc , it seems a big ask. And do we really believe that all animals on the earth were put on this ark. I mean there are a lot of questions that have never been answered.
Any answers for me ?
Tonya 06-Aug-2008 13:03
God bless you. Praise God for our Christian brothers and sisters throughout the world.
Terry Stephens 06-Aug-2008 01:54
This tremendous effort was comparatively easy to complete when we understand that Noah had no power tools, heavy equipment or lumberyards with ready-made stock to aid him and his family to construct this massive ship. It makes one think that why wasn’t this done in the 19th century when Christianity was being attacked by the forces of humanism so ruthlessly in the name of “Scientific Proof.”
Andrea 05-Aug-2008 21:44
Very enlighting ,as a matter of fact a friend of my family and i were discussing the ark today. God gives you just what you need to confirm his word.
Donna 04-Aug-2008 22:28
This is fascinating! I would love to see it in person. I admire the hard work, and trying to get people interested in the Bible again.

Truly a work of art. The image of the Ark is amazing, and achievement by man that can only have been influenced and inspired by God Himself. I have never seen anything like this in my lifetime, and probably will never have the opportunity to view something like this again. I have read what many of the readers have written about a book. A book would be a treasure for anyone to have. I for sure would enjoy having one with interior photos, and of the construction procedures that also were encountered by the builder and his son. Thank You for sharing this magnificant replica of Noah's Ark.

I collect Noah's Arks but this one beats them all! I love the story of Noah's Ark because it reminds me that God is in control, he cares about the details (can you imagine designing this and getting the animals to come together so that he could save them) and he keeps his promises. This is an amazing testamony of how awesome God Is. Thank You! God Bless
Gretchen 14-Jul-2008 19:09
Thank you for bringing some important Bible history to the forefront! Amazing work! Noah would have been proud of you.
Kevin L 14-Jul-2008 01:00
I am a Christian too and think the ark is awsom! I wish I could have been there while you made the ark. There is a lot of cool stuff in the ark. I love the design and the fact that it kept Noah's family safe. What a blessing GOD gave to Noah and you as well. Your friend Kevin.
Tommy L 14-Jul-2008 00:54
I can't believe you did that with only a little help from your son. I am a big fan of Noah's ark also and thought it was impossable to make an ark. I thought only Noah could make an ark. I like it very much. You did a good job. I am 8 years old.
Debbie Cloer Pitman 11-Jul-2008 02:45

Thank you so much for sharing your skills and talents as a wonderful witness to the truth of the Bible - all of it. I do have to say that Noah gave me a laugh when I saw him in his bed. I thought I was looking at Nowell Levitt (sp?), but you know who I mean.
Next will be the Ark of the Covenant....the real thing!

Everybody here is thanking PaultheDane for this Ark. He didn't build it, he simply took photos of it and posted them in his gallery. It was built by Johan Huibers of Schagen, Netherlands, you should be thanking him. I'm not a religious peroson by any means, however, I still recall the story of Noah's ark from when I was a child, and I think this is pretty cool to see.
Chawna 08-Jul-2008 15:08
Thank you for your beautiful work and my God Bless you and everyone that views this wonderous creation.
Shannon 08-Jul-2008 12:57
God Bless You for your labors as you show the world your faith. Wish it was closer to the US!
Wisefool 08-Jul-2008 04:09
OK, I really mean no insult...truly I don't. But it's funny that those of Christian faith (and by the language, we can gage I'm talking about the more fundamentalist types) are the only ones who look at this and see proof of anything more than the fact that wood can be fashioned into large boats.

Nice boat.
Joyce 07-Jul-2008 22:35
We are so proud of the Dutch as our daughter in law is from Holland and we had an enchange student son from Leiden, whom we see ever few years. We are hoping to get there next year and see this. God has truly blessed your obedience in the building of the ark. May it touch the lives of all who see it and hear about it so that they may grow in their love of our Lord, and serve him as well as you have done. Peace & blessings, Joyce in Florida
Karen 07-Jul-2008 19:36
Whether you believe in Noah or not; it is great to see the woodworking skills used to make this ark. What fun!
Guest 07-Jul-2008 18:59
I'm sure this took a lot of work, but really, who cares? It is another tacky tourism ploy. An attempt to bolster the minions of club Christianity? God luck with that.
Mrs. William Nuzzo 06-Jul-2008 20:45
Seeing is believing and believing is seeing. Thank you for this beautiful labor of love to show all the world what Noah's Ark really looked like and how it was able to hold so many animals and birds. Please come to America and build a Biblical Theme Park so many more unbelievers can see the wonderous architect and the beauty of God's handiwork through you.
I'm positive Jan and Paul Crouch, founders of the global Christian television station TBN, would be extremely interested to have you as their special guest so other smay learn of your plans, as they have just purchased a theme park entitled "The Holy Land Experience" in Florida. Please contact them at TBN, Santa Ana, CA or look up their website on the Internet. This work needs to be seen by everyone. May God richly bless you in all you set your hand to do.

May non believers stop and think about past history. When God says, do it, He means it. His Son, Jesus, will be with you when you attempt to achieve any task if you will only ask in His name. Wonderful work, may God bless you. In our country, USA, many people are trying to take God out of everything we do, yet they are the first to cry, God Bless America.

May God richly bless you for all your hard work. Wish someone would build one of these in the United States. Its things like this that really bring the Bible to life. I dont see how anyone could see this and not believe in our King.
Joyce Clark 29-Jun-2008 17:53
Absoutely amazing. Maybe this will give the non-believers a wake-up call. You have done a wonderful job. I wish you could get this in the United Sates and maybe thru this we could turn our country back over to GOD. GOD bless you and your family. Joyce Clark, Connersville, IN

May God bless you for this reinactment that you have created. It would be such a blessing if all people would take this seriously and start worshipping the Lord on a regular basis, not just when there has been a tradgedy in their lives. Wish we could have someone as wise here in Canada to build an ark here.
This is such an inspiration and I know the people that I am forwarding this to will appresiate all the hard work that has been put into this and may the people that view this in the Netherlands respect all the hard work that has gone into this piece of art and respect it as if this were the original.
Thank-you for sharing this and may this bring some Christianity back in the world.
LaDonna Ulshafer 28-Jun-2008 12:19

Is truly amazing. I congratulate you for such a strong faith and for not giving up even though, I'm sure, some people opposed to this. Yes, you are right, lot of people are loosing faith, our children, our teenagers. We must be strong and this is a wondeful example. Let's continue to pray !! thanks.
Donna Costilow 26-Jun-2008 15:15

Wow - what a great way to show the unbelieving and believing world - that the ark was large enough for the species. You have done an awesome job and I pray this will give all people a change of heart and consider our Lord Jesus and God's promises are true today as they were in Noah's day.
Patricia W. Johnson 20-Jun-2008 22:49
As a tool to teach children and others about the task God assigned to Noah, I think this is great. I think this builder had a heart for the things of God and wanted others to just have a glimpse of the magnitude of Noah's responsibility to carry out the plan of God to save mankind. BUT, ONLY HIS FAMILY WERE SAVED!!!

If we as Christians would even concentrate on seeing our family saved (by the mercy and grace of believing in Jesus Christ as Savior) we would all do well.
Kym Federer 20-Jun-2008 17:31
It would be lovely if you could do a video tour of the Ark as it would really give people the full view which still wouldn't be as incredible in person. We have watched a movie here called "Evin Almighty" which is actually a modern day movie where God asks an attorny to build an ARK and the reprocussions of his piers once he accepts what he must do. What a lovely idea and I am so glad you followed your dream. God Bless! Thanks for sharing, it is beautiful from what I can see in the pictures. I sure hope someday I can come visit it or it can be taken around the world. I am in the US (Florida) and would love to see it.

Isn't it wonderful how our father suprises us with such as this ark just to remind us, or let us know for the first time, that He is real, His love is real, and His word is true. He is an awsome Father. Praise His Holy Name!!
Sally 18-Jun-2008 15:30

This is truly awesome. Please bring it to USA, we also need a boost of Christianity. We are saved through faith, something unseen... but this even though it is a replica, makes it , for the lack of a better term..more real. God Bless you and your family. It truly is a testiment of faith. Erica Hodge, Tn USA
jordan parker 17-Jun-2008 21:37

God is great! This ark is amazing and to think it was built by one man with some help from his son. I'm astonished that the one from the Bible is five times this big. We surely hope you do bring it to America. I'd love to see it! Good luck and blessings, Lisa G from Georgia, USA.
