DL, My yahoo spell check must be secular, huh. And since when did subjective syntax or correct lexeme override the point of argument? Now the next time I post an essay to a real publication I will do better. But until then you have to take my comments in a quick condensed form (With Brachylogy) I Do you think the authors who penned the bible...those authors of inadequate Rhetorical skills, were concerned with your pedantic correctness. Are you a grade school teacher? Try reading something contemporary...There is no logic in organized religion idiot--it is story and meant to be allegory (trope). If you want to argue logic you had better look up the word...Logic is the study of the principles of valid demonstration and inference...there is none of that in exegesis, except in the kind of Exegesis that describes the elucidation of philosophical legal texts...
Did you here about coco the chimp--who was taken from the wild and turned into a suburban WASP? She finally adapted back to the wild after suffering many tantrums. Google that reference if you want to read a parallel to taking wild animals out of their natural habitat. Sounds like Noah story is scripted that way... something similar in his story, huh.
24.Charice, for one thing I would love to go play with an ape, with a better grasp on the real jungle. But since I am not any where near a jungle I have to play here with the less brainiac Christian kind. I am not wasting my time--I enjoy writing my comments. If you do not want to read them then I recommend you find the nearest church for I will not be there. ....If you knew any thing about building design you would see what a fire trap this cedar ARC is. I can imagine that is why he has to keep moving it around. ...the sea wall space for such an eye sore much cost him a small fortune.

To richard Haden - your spelling and grammatical errors in this comment are consistent with your illogical thinking. But then again, how could anyone expect anything more from someone who is "a descendant of the amoeba and apes?" Maybe they agree with you because I certainly don't!

CES, you should check your history for the Christian crusades did the same as Mohammed. They killed all non believers of their mind set. And look hoe your southern christians linched black americans in the south--in the name of God.
What a tremendous waste of good wood. Wake up people and smell the cedar involved in this man's scam. He's making money off popular Myth. The Ark story was never meant to be literal. Google the "ARK" and read the Islamic version. At least it claims that Noah took aboard about 80 people and his family to repopulate the earth. If you go with the old testament version then you have to believe that we are descended from similar inbreeding as with the story of ADAM and EVE. Are you people idiots or what. Perhaps you are the result of in-breding but I and my friend are descendants of the amoeba and Apes. there for we have been around longer than you biblically limited nonsense.

C.E.S. - thank you for your comments. I appreciate your response. I can't say I'm one who had studied the Bible intensely, but you sound quire knowledgeable. I'm wondering about your comments about similar species banching off from each other. I'm trying to make sense of this in the context of the Bible. Are you saying that all species on earth were NOT created at the beginning of the world? How does this fit with a literal interpretation of the bible? What is your belief? I 'm not sure what I believe - but I'm definitely interested in hearing others' views. Thank you!

On Brit's comment: There is a huge difference between Islam, and Christianity. While I agree with SOME of what you said and I fully believe that your friend is a good person....Islam is NOT a religion of peace. Research its beginnings....Mohammed conquered and killed all who would not believe. The worship of Allah cannot be compared to the worship of God and His Son Jesus.

On Natas and Deborah's comments: You're right, many other culture's do have a similar story. Reason why: because it DID happen, and different people explained how we survived. Think about it....culture's unrelated unconnected all have stories of a flood, all recorded from hundreds of years ago.

If you really knew the story you would be aware that the instance you're referring to of drunkenness was long after the flood had subsided. People did live hundreds of years, it took decades to complete the ark, and Noah had the help of his three sons.

Here's your explaination of how this would be possible for so many animals: water dwelling creatures didn't come on the ark, similar species have branched off from each other for example the domesticated dog came from wild wolves, in the same way that there are MANY different ethnicities of humans. And the reason all those animals could peaceably live together on the ark is nothing short of a miracle. That may not give you incentive to believe, but there are many things in the Bible, and in life that cannot be explained; like how everything in our bodies can work together perfectly without any instruction or thought from us.
If you truly believe this is false, then I challenge you to try and prove the Bible wrong.....this means intense research, not just skimming. I pray you learn the truth, and God blesses you.

Thank you Natas for echoing the questions on my mind. Here is an estimate of the current # of species on earth from currentresults.com: Mammals 5,416 ; Birds 9,956; Reptiles 8,240; Amphibians 6,199; Insects 950,000; Molluscs 81,000; Crustaceans 40,000; Corals 2,175; Others 130,200. OK all you literalists out there...please explain how this would have been possible on this ark?? Why is literal interpretation so important? Help me understand, please.
natas 27-Sep-2008 21:55
ridiculous, people... How could all
the thousands of species of animals fit on that boat? Don't animals
eat other animals?

Wasn't Noah 600 years old and a drunk? Isn't that a little old to be taking on a project of this magnitude?

Theres more than a few holes in this story... and it's not unique either... Look at the Epic of Gilgamesh. Every culture in the world had a crappy story like this.

How amazing! To the person who made the negative comment to Muslims: Please direct your comment to terrorists, not Muslims. Muslims are God fearing, good people, trying to live righteously, just like you are. I am not Muslim, but I am very close to one in particular. He is the most respectful, fun-loving, PERSON I know. He is a good example to us all of how a child of God should behave. So as Jesus would have us do, please do not judge. It is the terrorists who have forgotten who our God is, not Muslims.

God bless you for standing up for what you believe in. We as christians must tell the world how we believe and , for once, stand up to Satan and reclaim our world. May God richly bless you for not being ashamed of our Heavenly Father.

It also reminds me that we think we can do things alone. Could Noah have been able to afford this project? But God had a plan, and saw it through to completion. He provides abundantly. We need to seek and be still, to know his plan, then to be sensitive to how he will bring it about.

Can we even imagine the incredibleness of what Noah and his family went through to build the ark! This replica only highlights the wonder, splendor, detail, and amazing faith Noah had when he built the ark! Thank you for building this replica even though it's not the true size of what the ark was. It testifies to me how real God's plan and sovereignty is in accomplishing all that He wants to do, and it encourages me to know that the Lord is interested in both the details and the big picture of my life and all of His sons and daughters. God has a larger story and He is marching through history completing it all for His glory!
