I'm a lurker on the mototalk page and looked your photos of Daytona and Orlando. They are all very good, but I think you need to get a 2 stop neutral denisty filter (maybe 2) for your lense. This should get you down to around 1/350 to 1/500 on your speed during the day. If you look at your photos from the evening at Daytona, I think the photos shot around 1/250 to 1/350 are the best. The riders are still sharp but the wheels and dirt still have some motion blur to them. This will also allow you to open you lens back up and blur the back ground some (creating more focus on the rider). One last thought, you can also use a polaizer during the day to reduce around 1 stop of light.
