Late October there aren't many bugs around. This one was down in a dried up bit of vegetation and I thought it was a faded blossom at first.
Then I noticed the legs.
After I shot a couple snaps he let go of the little fly he was sucking on, probably disturbed by the camera. Neither one of them moved for a long time but finally the Ambush bug turned away. Then I filled up the card in the camera :-(
One of the challenges in this series was that the bugs were way down in a bramble and it was dificult to get a clear shot. Most of the time I would get good focus only to have the flash light up an intervening twig that created a big blurry patch in the pic.
