Eastham Cove Burying Ground is on the site of the first Congregational Church in Eastham, a town that dates to the middle 17th century. Three passengers from the Mayflower are buried at Eastham Cove, as are about a hundred early settlers whose graves are now unidentifiable. Constance Hopkins Snow is the eldest child of Stephen Hopkins, a signer of the Mayflower Compact. The Mayflower Compact established the first civil government in the New World and served in part as the foundation of the U.S. Constitution. Constance was 15 years old when the Mayflower landed at what is now Provincetown. Tne Mayflower passengers' graves are easily identified by the permanent planting of flowers that surrounds each of them.
