Provincetown, Massachussets - Cape Cod

The 252 foot Pilgrim Monument in Provincetown is the tallest all granite structure in North America. It was dedicated in August 1910 by President William Howard Taft to commemorate the landing of the Pilgrims at Provincetown, where they drafted the Mayflower Compact. Provincetown prides itself on its openess to diverse lifestyles and cultures. The multi-colored flag is seen frequently around Provincetown and is intended to symbolize the town's tolerant culture.
