Ancient tradition meets technology. Via giant screen TV, thousands in St. Peter's square were able to watch, for the first time in history, the ceremony marking the beginning of a Papal Conclave. Here, as has happened for hundreds of years, each of the cardinal electors inside the Sistine Chapel reaffirmed his oath by placing his hand on the bible open to the gospel of Matthew.
