Shipping has always been central to the industrial base of Liverpool. This building sits vacant now, awaiting redevelopment as a condominium and office building. But this building has a rich history. It was the headquarters of the Oceanic Navigation Steam Company, better known as the White Star Line. It was in this building that the decision was made to construct the R.M.S. Titanic.
